ABOUT THE SERIES

This 36 volume series was started in 1939, and is still in print today. Volumes #1 through 11 were initially published in hardcover, with and without dust jackets, by William B. Eerdmans. They reprinted these volumes many times over the years. They eventually added more color to some of the earlier covers, and came up with a new cover for "We Killed A Bear."
Volumes #12 through 23 were initially published in hardcover by Van Kampen Press. I have seen some of these volumes printed as large paperbacks, and as hardcovers with dust jackets.
Volumes #24 through 29 were initially published in hardcover and large paperback by Scripture Press. They also reprinted volumes #12 through 23. Their reprint of "Digs for Treasure" featured new cover art. I have never seen hardcover editions of volumes 28 and 29.
Volumes #30 through 33 were initially published in large paperback by Sugar Creek Press. I have never seen hardcover editions of these volumes. The books contained a listing of the entire series to date, but I have never seen any Sugar Creek Press reprints of the older volumes.
Volumes #34 and 35 were initially published in small 4 3/4" wide paperback by Moody Press. Moody reprinted some of the older volumes in this format also. They reprinted more volumes than they listed on the back covers, but there are thirteen volumes that I have never seen in this format. It was at this time that Paul obtained the copywrites to the first 11 volumes. It was also at this time that Paul rewrote "Flies to Cuba" as "On Palm Tree Island," and made minor content revisions to most of the other books in the series.
Volume #36 was initially published in small 4 1/4" wide paperback by Moody Press. Moody reprinted the entire series in this format, with the exception of "One Stormy Day" and "Case of the Missing Calf." With this reprint, the books were given new titles. It was at this time that Paul rewrote "Old Stranger's Secret" as "Tree House Mystery."
In the 1980's, Moody reprinted the entire series again in small 4 1/4" wide paperback. This reprint included every volume in the series. The books were numbered, but some numbers were incorrect.
In the 1990's, Moody reprinted the entire series again in small 4 1/4" wide paperback. It was at this time that Paul's daughter Pauline made minor content changes to all of the books. The books were numbered again, but some numbers were still incorrect.
